Dear reader,
So...you're probably wondering why on earth you stumbled upon a blog entitled 'Fig House'. No doubt you were innocently googling out the best methods of planting fig trees, or trying to find a recipe for pickling figs, or were curious about the decorational benefit of fig trees and all their constituents, or some such thing, and the next thing you know, you're gracing my humble blog with your reluctant presence.
'An explanation is in order,' you say, 'and it better be a good one.' (Silent fist-shaking directed at the computer screen).
Well, my somewhat impetuous reader, here goes. The name 'Figgy' is, in fact, not my christened name. I know--shocking, isn't it? My real name is actually Bethany.
'Well, good for you,' you interject, 'but what does all this have to do with figs?' you ask, your brow furrowed in confusion.
If you would be so kind as to permit me to continue, I was just getting to that part. You see, my hasty friend, the name 'Bethany' is actually a Hebrew name which means 'house of unripe figs.' Hah! Well, there you go, my dear reader!
'But wait...what the heck does 'house of unripe figs' mean?' you inquire yet again, your furrowed brow getting furrower and furrower by the second.
Ah. Well. To me, the whole 'unripe figs' thing symbolizes potential or promise...so, in my opinion, my name actually means 'house of potential'. Of course, there are other interpretations of the name, but, since it's my name, it means what I want it to mean. So there.
'Ahhh...' (Silent nodding of the head in understanding) '...whatever.' With the mystery cleared up, your hand moves to the mouse, and the cursor makes a beeline towards the 'back' button. Apparently, you are eager to resume your quest for further fig enlightenment.
But wait! Now that you have been fortunate enough to come across this blog--a proverbial diamond in the rough, if I do say so myself--don't you want to come back every once in a while and check out all the cool things being posted here?
Yes? No?
Well, whatever you decide (say yes! yes!), I respect that decision completely, and make no attempt whatsoever to change your mind...unless you said no. In which case...please, please, PLEASE say yes! Yes! Yes! YES!!
Alrighty then. My work here is done. Await my next post with baited breath, dearest reader...it's gonna be a good one. And so is the one after it, and the one after that, and after that, and after that, and after that. And, yup, you guessed it, even the one after that.
Until we meet again...muahahahahahaha! Ha! Haha! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Ok, now for the real thing: bubbye now. Take care. Sayonara. Adieu...Ciao...
